Chances are excellent that when you think back on how you got involved in the outdoors, you have some good memories of great experiences that shaped you into the hunter you are today. More and more hunters are choosing the convenience of a ground blind over the traditional tree stand. If you’re thinking of making the switch yourself, or just entering your first season, here are a few common mistakes to avoid with hunting blinds. Not Concealing the Scent Ground blinds are often made from cloth materials similar to your clothes. This means they absorb the scent of their surroundings. So if you store your blind in a dank basement the rest of the year, it’s going to start to smell like it. So remember to air it out and spray it down with a good scent eliminator before use. Hunting immediately after set up Game animals such as deer need time to get used to changes in their environment.
